Derren Brown is an English magician, illusionist, mentalist, painter and sceptic. From a young age Derren Brown has been studying hypnotherapy. He shot to fame in the year 2000 when Channel 4 broadcast his show Derren Brown: Mind Control.
The star has been famously known for his mind reading skills and acts. He has stated that he is able to manipulate the decision making process and read the subtle physical signs or body language that indicate what a person is thinking.
But on the 9th September 2009, Derren Brown pulled off his biggest stunt to date and that was to successfully predict the winning lottery numbers. Matka The show started about five minutes before the lottery results were aired on the BBC. Derren Brown had predicted five of the main numbers which were sitting nicely next to the television and could not have been touched or moved.
When the lottery results were aired live on the BBC, Derren Brown then proceeded to write them down on his board and went over and revealed his lottery numbers he had chosen hours before. The nation was shocked what had happened and were in ore. Brown, 38, had been banned from buying a lottery ticket for the 2.4 million pound jackpot.
There have been so many different rumours as to how the trick was pulled off and if it was in fact a trick. One rumour suggested that Brown was able to see winning numbers through a link to the BBC draw a few moments before they were broadcast live enabling him to quickly write the correct numbers down before they were broadcast to the audience.
Derren Brown though, has insisted that he will show people how the trick was done on Friday 11th September. Derren Brown will have a lot of questions to answer as to how he pulled this off. But personally all I can say is that this guy is a great illusionist. Watching his show that was aired before, most of the audience members were realistically shocked by what the guy was actually doing.
He was basically reading people’s minds, knowing what they were thinking and performing great illusions that pull a trick to your eye. A hoax or real who knows, there are a lot of people complaining that it’s all a hoax, but in reality this guy is an entertainer and illusionist so making us believe that he predicted the lottery numbers, shows he is very good at what he does.
